A beautiful, well-groomed nail is an important part of your overall look. Attractive nails and hands enhance your appearance, whether you spend your days in a kitchen or in a boardroom. A basic manicure takes between 20-30 minutes. Artificial nail services, such as tips, acrylics and gels, average about 45 minutes. The cost is quite affordable, and the results are well worth it.
Gel polish manicures are an alternative to regular nail polish manicures. Whereas nail polish requires 30 minutes of air drying time (and can still be smudged or dented in the hours after application), gel polish contains a special polymer that must be “cured” under an LED or UV light – allowing it to harden during the curing cycle and become instantly dry.

Every two – three weeks your nail technician will fill in the area near the cuticle between where the natural nail has grown and where the artificial nail or tip is attached. This “fill” includes smoothing, re-sanitising and re-applying the acrylic where it has naturally grown out.
Artificial nail applications should be maintained every two – three weeks. It is important to have regular fills because if the acrylic lifts away from the natural nail, moisture and bacteria can accumulate between them. A professional nail technician can spot problem areas best and should provide adequate advice.
If your natural nails were filed properly in the beginning, and if you’ve been maintaining your artificial nails with regular visits to the salon, your nails will be in good condition after the acrylic nail is removed. Be sure to use some strengthening treatment for your natural nails, condition your cuticles with Oil.

Contrary to popular belief, neither method is more “healthy” or “less-damaging” than the other. When professional products are applied and removed properly by a qualified professional, you’re highly unlikely to experience any noticeable damage whatsoever.
Polygel is a newer, more flexible, and lighter nail enhancement product, while acrylic is strong but heavier and less flexible. Polygel is odorless and requires curing, while acrylic involves strong odors. The choice depends on preferences and client needs.
Gel-X and acrylic nails are two nail enhancement options. Gel-X uses pre-made gel tips for a time-saving process. Acrylic nails are constructed from liquid monomer and powder polymer, providing strength. The choice depends on your preferences, with Gel-X being quicker, and acrylic nails can be filled in several times before soaking off.”
The main difference is that Shellac is a brand of gel polish, whereas gel polish is a general term for this type of nail polish. Shellac is a specific product within the gel polish category.
